Established in 1895, the course plays 9 holes with 18 different tees and mostly follows the original layout. It was amended in the 70's, lengthened and now measures 5658 yards over 18 holes. Click on this link for the Scorecard.

Although short by modern standards, the course remains an exacting test of golf. With different tees for the second nine there is not only a change of distance, but a variation of angle, making some holes dramatically different.

The quality of the course is best illustrated by the fact that after the alterations in 1972 the Amateur course record remained at 67 (par) for 23 years, being finally bettered in 1995 and now stands at 65.
